Welcome to First Baptist Church of Martha Lake

Dear FBC Family,

Happy New Year! I hope you are filled with anticipation for what God will do in your life and in our church in 2012. As we discussed Sunday, we are setting a course for 2012 and we invite you to join with us in this mighty endeavor. Our goal: Jesus. As individuals, as families, and as a church we are setting a course to Treasure, Pursue, and Follow Jesus! I want more of Jesus, don’t you? In everything we do, Jesus will be our goal and our focus. The result will be that Jesus will be exalted and we will be satisfied in him beyond our expectations. (If you missed our worship gathering on January 1st and would like to explore this pursuit further you can find the sermon by following this link: http://www.marthalake.org/category/sermons/2012/january-2012 )

In light of pursuing Jesus, the elders would like to invite you to join us this month as we seek God’s vision for us as a church. The month of January will be “Vision Month.” During the next month we will spend extra time

praying for God to direct us and to give us courage to follow him. We will also devote our teaching time in our worship gatherings to exploring from God’s Word what our direction will be as a church. This will be an important time for us as a church and I personally encourage you to make plans to participate with us in our worship gatherings, weekly prayer gatherings, family meeting (on January 8th, see below), and at other special prayer times that we hope to have near the end of the month. God has a purpose for us as a church, let us rally together around that purpose and fulfill it with passion and boldness!

Be sure to review the upcoming events and opportunities below so that you can be part of what God is doing among us!

With Much Anticipation,
Jason
