Book of Colossians

The goal of every believer must be to know and practice God’s will. His will has a common thread for every believer, yet there are also things about God’s will that are unique for every believer. This series will deal with how we can know and practice both His general will (for every believer) and how we can know and practice His specific will (for the individual believer).

We often think of God’s will as a mystery. If we use a modern definition of mystery, there is nothing mysterious about God’s will. However, if we use the word mystery in the sense of meaning of the word mystery in the Bible, His will is very mysterious. We think of a mystery as something that is hidden. A mystery in the Biblical sense of the word is something that used to be hidden, but is now clearly revealed. God’s will used to be hidden, but now, He wants us to know His will. He reveals His will to us — but only under His conditions.
